I am a PhD candidate in Informatics with a Graduate Feminist Emphasis, working at the intersection of Anthropology, Science Technology Studies, and CSCW. I'm particularly interested in political economy, globalization issues in technoculture, development, and critical innovation studies. My dissertation work looks at new transnational design collaborations between India and the US, both as a form of intercultural collaboration and globalization of innovation.

I study with Paul Dourish in the Laboratory for Ubiquitous Computing and Interaction. I also work with Melissa Mazmanian (Informatics), Kavita Philip (Women's Studies and Informatics), and Keith Murphy (Anthropology).

My research is funded by the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Fellowship, National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, and NSF Virtual Organizations as Sociotechnical Systems.

Previously, I spent four years at Google as a User Experience Designer on a range of products including AdWords, Page Creator, Notebook, and some other things that haven't seen the light of day yet. My focus was on early stage design research, information architecture, and interaction design. I have an M.S. in Computer Science specializing in Human-Computer Interaction, a B.S. in Computer Science with honors in Science, Technology, and Society from Stanford University.
