Taylor Abstract: Systems that can adapt their structure and behavior at run-time are always desirable, and sometimes necessary in domains that require 24x7 reliability. Adapting systems based on their high-level design, or architecture, has proven to be a promising technique, but most research thus far has addressed dynamism within a single process, rather than in a distributed context. My presentation will outline some issues and potential solutions to doing dynamism in a distributed context, as well as demonstrate some of the techniques in software. Bio:
