Software - Compiler Research

The complexity of verifying an incoming byte-code sequence for correctness and the complexity of generating optimized native code on-the-fly both grow faster than linear program size. UCI is thus systematically studying alternative machine-independent software distribution formats and developing just-in-time compilation techniques.
